Why invest in early arts?

Children are naturally born artistic, before they can speak, they hum “songs”; before they can write, they draw; they dance when they are happy. We strongly believe being artistic is human nature.

In recent years, academics concluded there is great value in creative work for children in their early years, as well as their parents’ and carers’ well-being. Children are most happy when their creative need is met, which contributes to better skills and behaviour development in learning as they grow.

Parents talk about making new friends and feeling less isolated, children discovered new ways to be expressive are calmer and spend quality time together that will enrich the bond with your children.

BENEFITS

Lifetime skills

Early years artistic activities will help children to develop subsequent skills and neural connections which will be useful throughout life.

Cognitive Development

Expressive arts activities can help children make sense of their cognitive, emotional, physical (motor skills), linguistic and moral development by providing a positive focus for shared experience and communication.

Decision Making

Creative expression is part of human qualities, by encouraging children to express themselves, they get to experiment with decision-making which stimulates their senses of self as well as builds confidence.

High quality arts and cultural experiences in early childhood can benefit in:

Language development

Using art to discover ways to express themselves, often help children to develop their own languages which will shape their individual identity.

Breaking barriers

Other than helping to preserve our cultural heritage, arts can also help us to break down language barriers, and cultural/social differences and increase a sense of unity and community identity.

Deep Understanding

For early years children, creative art can bring vibrancy to learning deeper about a child’s needs and interests. This leads to sustainable progression, strengthening parent-child bonds and behavioural health.
